Cyprus’ Dive Sites

Chapel
Dive Site
The Chapel Dive Site is situated on Cape Greko not far from Konnos/ Cyclops. There are two possible dives that you can do from here.
Dive One is a deeper dive that involves entry via a cliff jump. Once in the water, the bottom slopes away relatively quickly over the rocks until you arrive at a plateau of sand and sea grass at about 30 metres.
Here you will find an exercise bike, if you wanted to work out a little, with plenty of Octopus and moray eels hiding in the rocks and reefs. Equally at this point, stay aware of what is around you as large shoals of different fish have been known to accumulate at this area. Barracuda, yellow fin tuna and even greater amberjack are regular visitors.
Following the cliff face around, you will find the exit point for this dive ( a set of stairs) not far from large clumps of roman amphora.
Dive Two has the same entry and exit point, the stairs on the left of the parking lot. This dive has a maximum depth of around 14 metres and is the ideal spot to see sting rays.
Swimming down over the rocks, past the old fishing nets that now provide a home to octopus, parrotfish, sea bream and damsel fish, you will enter a sandy basin, which is where you will find the sting rays. Following the reef around, keep your eyes open for all the usual fish and again, some more unusual ones such as the nudi brancs.
Be aware that a current can sometimes run in this area, so its always best to take a compass bearing.
